John 14:13-14

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Now we are assured that this is Scripture and we know that Scripture cannot be broken. Yet we have asked for things that we have not received.

So, we inquire of the Lord and look for understanding and clarification. We find the following Scriptures to ponder.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you……..If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing…... (John 15)……So, we get our first qualifier for success……

And we look further….

.the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing….By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.  (John 5)

So whatever I (Jesus) say is just what the Father has told me to say. (John 12)

As we meditate on these Scriptures we come to understand the life Jesus lived was in a Spiritual connection with the Father through the Holy Spirit. He got everything that He asked for, but He didn’t live for His own will. He lived for the Father’s will and whatever He asked in that accord was granted…..healings, provision, direction, new ride never before rode in, instruction, tax money, etc……

As we search out many confirming scriptures, we conclude that the Scripture up above is true. But it is true from a spiritual perspective. Jesus is our example. Jesus gave up His fleshly will to walk out God’s will by the power of the Holy Spirit. In that arena He got everything He asked. It’s in that arena we can have everything we ask. Real life is Holy Spirit life and His guidance into seeing, hearing, and walking in the Spirit.

Elisha wanted a double portion of the anointing that was on Elijah. He was told, if he “saw” Elijah when he departed he would get it. No one else knew where Elijah went but Elisha “saw” him leave and caught his mantle and ended up doing double the miracles that Elijah did……God help us to see into the Spirit realm.
